“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” – Steve Jobs
“No-frills” for WordPress is a minimalist theme by Jesse Kim. The goal of No-frills is a clutter-free, distraction-free, content-centric Web site. On 18 September 2008, No-frills became the 360th theme in the official WordPress Theme Directory, where versions up to 3.1.1 have been archived. The current version of No-frills is available from this page. No-frills 5 or higher requires WordPress 3.4.1 or higher and the current version of Origin.

Thank you for good work!
I’m looking for how to adjust the font size for the post content in the No-Frills theme. I’ve changed the font, and it’s WAY too big, but for some reason I can’t seem to find it in the CSS file. I would have thought that it would be under #content div.post p, but there isn’t a listing for that, and I can’t seem to find my place in the CSS. Any help would be great.
Thanks for a great theme.
Hi, I saw you have a 2.19 version but link to download is for 2.7. Where may I get the 2.9 version?

Wow Great Theme Jess!
Can anyone suggest a way to make the search icon and the rss icon sit on the same line as the search box sits on ??????? And equal up the spacing of these three items??????
I have been customizing Jess’s css file a little to fit the content on my blog and I can’t seem to crack this last little thing….
Help !
:-)
Hi Oliver – I hadn’t paid much attention to that part of the layout. I tried my best to make the elements flush with the baseline but can’t seem to reach perfection… Anyway check out the latest version (3.0.6) and see if it’s much of an improvement. It may take a couple of days for the new version to get approval. If you’re in a hurry, try the alternate download link.
So glad that I’ve discoverd this theme, now I just need to find myself around it as I am a real newbie. The no frills theme is great and very effective butI’d like help with sourcing some no frills images or subtle background images. Can anyone help. The aim of the site will be to highlight my different work interests so I will need to add a couple of ‘frills/colour’, is this possible? Really appreciate your help and well done with the good work Jess. Kind regards, Sabi
Thank you Jess! I’ll send you a link once I have finished the site so you can see what I did with your theme…
Hi, am just getting started and wonder if there is anything special I need to know to make a bilingual site (english/italian), and also for bringing in images. thanks very much!
Hi,
Can you please advise how to add a logo using this theme? On many others I have used there has been an option in wp-admin but I have been unable to locate that on the no-frills theme.
Thanks,
James
Hi, I like nofrills very much, thank you for your beautiful contributions.
I would like to upgrade to the latest version of nofrills, but I do not know how to keep my current layout (from nofrills 2.1.7) with a large left side column. http://areadocenti.eco.unicas.it/virili/
Could you help me?
Thanks in advance

Hey great theme. I would like to have my side bar on the left hand side rather than the right, is this possible?
Thanks for your help
To move the side bar from the right to the left, open footer.php and cut <div id=”nf_pagesidebar”> … </div> (total 7 lines) and paste the div block into header.php immediately after <div id=”nf_page”> and immediately before nf_pagecontentcolumn.
I am now using the No-frills Theme on a test for a new site, and am very happy with the coding done by you. It’s rare to see a theme these days that are truely valid HTML.
Thank you very much for you work
Hi J,
I used your theme (no frills) as a base layout and there is no archive.php. Would you be able to send me one? I am trying to figure out why my archive links don’t work right on the left column.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Just wanted to say thank you for the awesome free theme!! I’m using a modded version on my site.
I use this theme, and love it. However, the comments don’t seem to be working on my site. I try to submit a comment myself, but nothing ever shows up as “Pending” in the Comments section of my Dashboard. I press submit and the page seems to reload–then nothing. Any suggestions?
Hi Billy, thanks for the comment. I checked your blog and I am not sure why comments won’t submit. Does it work fine with other themes? I noticed, however, that you’re running a version of No-frills written for WordPress 2.x, which may have issues with the latest (3.4.1). Both the theme and WordPress have come a long way since then. May I suggest that you try out the latest version of No-frills and see how that fares? It’s available from this page. Note you also need to have another theme called “Origin” installed as the current version of No-frills sits on top of the base theme.
